Very thin as promised and large enough surface to weigh a large plate. Dial lights up, which is nice, but it wears out the battery too quickly. Also, lighted numbers can only be read from directly above. Finally, if on a slightly un-level surface may not be able to weigh. This isn’t a problem in the kitchen most of the time, only if you try to weigh on let’s say a picnic table.
