I’ve been a fan of OXO for years. I received this product last week and am now suffering buyers’ remorse. Here’s the ‘I didn’t think this through’ part – this product is made with the thick clear plastic (Styrene Acrylonitrile – SAN) which since I’ve banned all plastics from my kitchen, won’t be touching my food. While SAN may not leach the nasty by products of the petrochemicals it’s made from, there is enough information about leaching plastics on the web to know I don’t want plastics touching the food I have in my kitchen. Especially with kids around. I shouldn’t have bought this but like i said, I wasn’t thinking.
Also, the product is made in China and with the poisoned toothpaste, cough syrup and pet food that has come out of there in the last two years, I don’t use anything made in China if it comes in contact with what goes in our bodies. Amazon should put the origin of the product in the description.

I like the design and the large size, but this container arrived filthy and unwrapped. I was disappointed by the fact it almost appeared used. Doubt I would buy from them online again.

I actually love the product. I hate the delivery. Unfortunately I ordered three of these and they all came broken. The packaging for shipment is poor and I can see how thy were broken in shipment. I’m so disappointed! I should have paid attention to the other reviews.

Normally I love Oxo products. But I found this one very disappointing. I purchased some of the large containers and found that they cracked very easily. I was able to easily return them, but in a humid climate and with the threat of bugs getting into my baking supplies I have switched to Snapware Mods. Snapware Mods are very durable, tested for freezing, heating in microwave, and dishwasher safe and, in fact, the seals improve with age and usage and dishwashing. All in all a better purchase for those of us who beat up our canisters when we take them out and put them away. I also advise anyone teaching kids and teens how to cook should not use these Oxo containers because kids are not gentle and these break too easily. Go for the Snapware.

So I dont know much about storage containers but this thing is pretty cool. I use it for dog food so I dont know if it stays super fresh but my dog seems to like it. It gets an A+ from her.
Thanks
